Cronies Claim Themselves Ready for Player's Club

All good things must come to an end. Porterfield played great, but got beat by Hosket 9 to 6. Dr. Tzagournis lost control of his driver and was ran over by Schoemer 12.5 to 2.5. A former commish of the league once told me, things change fast in the CGA and you better come to play every single week.

Half the field or Eight Cronies shot net 37 or better. Conditions for the most part were ideal for scoring. The Par 5's both set up with the wind and yielded 7 birdies. When Greg is reaching a Par 5 in two, it is safe to say, conditions were ideal. Besides the conditions, the Cronies are getting comfortable with their partners, their swings, and their course.

Player Notes:

Schoemer - Gross 46 net 31 for player of the week.
Underwood - Gross 41 for net 34. Goes to 2-0 for an Avg score of 12.5
Hosket - Gross 40 for net 35 Tight 9-6 win over Porterfield
Burkley & Porterfield - Gross 40's for net 36's
Shaffer - Low Gross of 38 and could easily have been 35
Brinkman - Gross 41 for a net 37 as he got handed a 55 from Budzik

Webb, Budzik, and Barrett all go to 0-3 in individual competition. The defending champion Budzik shot a cool 55, while Webb better get his driver fixed by Saturday. Smokin got off to a nice start until I noticed he was standing directly behind me reading putts on every green. Once I put a stop to this, the true Smokin arrived as closed with a 52.

Touch Em All Major - Saturday, May 16, 2009 @ Foxfire Players Club

Tee Times (pulled at random at BWWW)

9:45 am Diwik / Schoemer & Son of Bettes
9:52 am Porta Joe's & TBD
10:00 am Burkley / Brinkman & WebBull
10:07 am Dude, Where's My Par & Ebel / Budzik
10:15 am Dr. Jay & TBD

We will rearrange tee times based on scores after 18 holes. The first tee time for the last 9 holes is set for 3:15 pm, which will give us time to reorganize. The format is:
1st 9 holes = Best Ball
2nd 9 holes = Scramble
3rd 9 holes = Modified Alternating Shot

We should finish around 6:15 to 6:30 pm. I am sure some will want to play the last 9 holes and others will head to the party. Tough to drive off of the course, but it would be nice to get Webbie on the grill by 8:00 instead of 10:00 pm. The cost to play Foxfire is $75-$80. We are collecting $15 for the party and an optional $10 per man pot game. Winning team takes all. Webb will be collecting the $25 and you can pay your green fees directly with the course. George's is a go for swoosh, cooking out, etc. The league is charging $15 for anyone that uses a bed. In addittion, any member that uses Joe's Taxi service to go clubbing on Kenny Road the charge is $10 round trip. "In these tough times, the league must find every way possible to tax their members. Unfortuately, the days of really cool logo windbreakers are over. It is back to the basics.... simple, simple simple. See you all Saturday, remember, Max Quad Net Rule is in play for those that are late for their tee times.
