Mother Nature Tames the CGA

Mother Nature brought the CGA to a screeching halt on July 20th. For the first time in several years rain forced the cancellation of CGA matches. Enforcing, article 19(c) of the CGA Constitution, the commish cancelled all matches. The rule states that if the first group, in this case Swanson & Hosket, would have finished all 9 holes in their entirety, than the matches would be official going back to the last hole that all groups completed. Underwood commented, "I was well aware of who was in the first group and felt safe to alert the media that we would not have our first group completing 9 holes. I was trained and briefed very well by Greg on how to handle these situations. I made a 8:30 deadline that if we were not back on the course, we were cancelling the matches."

With the rainout, the CGA resumed play this past Monday, as if no golf was ever played. Several league members thanked Mother Nature and turned in solid rounds. Jay Feller went from a bye to posting a 41, net 32 in a dismantling of Jason Diwik. Andy Shaffer was 3 under on the 7th tee, finishing his round at 2 under in a beating of Ryan Webb, who at times looked like he was still on vacation. Porta Joe's who were leading the week before ended up on the short end of a sweep by Dude, Where is My Par.

The May Brothers were on bye, however Susan at BWWW was still nice enough to comp our tab at Bethel. Thanks, Susan!! Major is August 22nd at Black Diamond. Final Sign Up sheet will be at Golf League, Monday August 10th. We voted, (actually it is best for me) to play golf on Labor Day. So the league will end on Monday, September 7th, unless we have a rainout. Scorecards have been sent over to Greg and will be entered later this week.
