Opening Day Just Around the Corner

There are some things in life that you just look forward to.... a wedding anniversary, a day at the beach, a big OSU game with a Webbie Tailgate, a family birthday party, but let's be real, there is nothing quite like Opening Day in the CGA. It is the time of the year when you actually still respect your partner. It is the time when everyone believes they can compete in the CGA. It is a time to get to know your partner. Does he like to drive, does he hit a falice (combination of a fade and slice), what kind of beer does he drink, does he really play this slow, all those important aspects of your season begin to take form.

Starting a new tradition... The past Individual Champion (Jay Feller) will hit a ceremonial first ball to start the season. We encourage all league members to support Jay as he kicks off our season. This will take place
promptly at 5:00 pm, followed by the following tee times:

5:00 pm BuBu vs. AyerMayL
5:08 pm May K'Ebel vs. Chuckie West
5:16 pm Cork Soakers vs. Shankaportamus
5:24 pm Double F'n Trouble vs. Dr. Red Love

Guys, WE WILL HAVE Paramutual Wagering again this year. However, you must bring cash or a check made out to CGA to wager. Jason Diwik will be at the golf course by 4:30 pm to take wagers. Again, Paramutual wagering is open for the season, but must be prepaid with Jason before the matches Monday night.

Other News to note :

Tartan East has agreed to host our first major of the season. AGAIN, THE MAJOR IS SATURDAY, MAY 22ND AT 9:15 AM.

We are not playing Memorial Day this year. There will be a 9 hole Pot game for those that like Pot games. If you are not playing on Memorial Day, please tell your wife that you feel like spending Memorial Day is more important so you are skipping golf league. That way, the rest of us, can act like we have normal golf league and not have to sacrifice a "chip" to play golf.

Well, I would like to close by wishing each and every one of you good luck this season. As the years roll by the friendship grows stronger and stronger. I do promise you this: Chuckie West will be tough to stop going back to back.
