Things are Heating Up in the CGA

Some thoughts on Week 8:
  • Epic battle between Undy and Tzagournis. Normally when an 8 handicap fires a gross 38 that player also enjoys a nice margin of victory. But not when his opponent puts up a 45/29. Underwood earns the Week 8 POW based on the 38 (tied for lowest gross this year) and based on the fact that he beat a net 29 (lowest net of the year) by the score of 8-7.
  • Nine of 16 players shot a net par or better.
  • In the Individual Standings, KC Budzik shot a 40/30 for a 12-3 victory over Jason Diwik, thus maintining his five point lead over Tommy Freiburger. T.Fry kept pace with a 12-3 win over perma-sub Mike Barrett.
  • In the Team Standings, Cat Piss was drilled by Dos Hickies 30-15 but maintains a 36 point lead over second place Fua Twoa, who also lost 27.5-17.5 to Robel's Army. Duh...Winning was the biggest gainer in Week 8 with its 34-11 drubbing of PorterFeller. With the win, Duh moved into 3rd place and is just one point out of 2nd.
  • The standings are very bunched up after Cat Piss. Only 19.5 points separate 2nd place Fua Twoa from 7th place Dos Hickies.
  • We only needed one sub in Week 8 (Barrett). That is the best attendance we've had all season.
  • Only five players have played every week: Freiburger, Brinkman, Porterfield, Webb and Geraghty.
