How Do You Pick?

How do you pick a Player of the Week when five golfers tied for Low Net in Week 6?  A strong case can be made for each of the five.
  • Do you go with the player that had the Low Gross?  Ryan Webb shot a 40.
  • Do you go with the player who registered the most points?  Jay Feller defeated Doug May 12.5-2.5.
  • Do you go with the player who beat the toughest opponent?  Steve Porterfield (43/35) defeated John Brinkman (43/36) 11-4.
  • Do you pick the player with the most pars?  Steady-eddy Rob Burkley had 6 pars.
  • Or do you acknowledge the most improved player over the past two weeks?  After posting scores of 57 and 60 in Weeks 3 and 4, George Tzagournis shot a 50 in Week 5 and a 49 in Week 6.

Of course, all are deserving.  But I don't get paid the big bucks to duck the tough decisions.  So in searching for a tie-breaker, I have settled on the fact that one of these Cronies lead his team to a crushing defeat of the previously undefeated See You on Mundy (36-9).  As a result, the Team Standings have been quickly transformed from what was starting to look like a runaway into a very tight race.  See You on Mundy's 34 point lead over second place is now only a 9 point lead.

Congratulations to Jay Feller, the Week 6 CGA Player of the Week.  And if you need any more convincing, take a look at the Individual Standings, where you will see Jay's name listed first.
