Geeez! We Have a New Team Leader

After a 9 week run in 1st place, See You on Mundy was knocked from its perch on Monday by Geeez!  Perhaps 'knocked from its perch' isn't strong enough wording.  With birdies on the first two holes of the match, it was more like Geeez! stormed the castle and took no prisoners.  It was kind of like this:

Each G had two birdies, which proved to be too much to overcome for SYOM, who actually shot the lowest team net for the week (67) but still lost 31.5-13.5.  Geeez! now holds a slim 4.5 point lead over SYOM in the Team Standings.  Stellar (9 points back) and our old friends Stickit & Lickit (12 points back) are right in the thick of things too.

Player of the Week goes to Jason Diwik for his 40/31.  Diwik parred 6 holes and registered the biggest win of the week, a 12.5-2.5 defeat of Steve Porterfield.  Brad Underwood's stellar 40/30 also deserves mention here, but astoundingly Underwood lost his match 8-7 to George Tzagournis (47/34).  Greg May, two weeks away from his 50th birthday, also gets special mention for being the only player to break 40 in Week 9.

Jay Feller, who has been steady all year, finds himself on top of the Individual Standings with Tzagournis only one point behind.  Feller has a 6-2-1 record in individual matches this year.  Here is a complete listing of each player's won-loss record (based on points won in the match):
  • Feller  6-2-1
  • Tzagournis  7-2
  • Freiburger  6-2-1
