It's time for the season's first major! The 2017 Edition of the Touch Em All Tournament will be played at Urbana Country Club on Saturday, May 13th.
The tournament is a test of team play, consisting of 3 separate team formats. The 7 teams in this year's field will start off with 9 holes of scramble play, followed by 9 holes of best ball and finally 9 holes of modified alternating shot.
Here are some facts and tidbits about the tournament: The TEA was not played in the league's first year. It debuted in 2002 at Shaker Run. The winning team was Rob Burkley and Dan Sadd. ... The event has produced many multiple winners. George Tzagournis and Greg May have each won the event 4 times, including as partners in 2012. ... Joe Barrett will be lasering for a record-tying third consecutive win this year. Barrett will be the only player in this year's field with a double digit handicap (15), 6 shots more than any other player. If he does it, he will tie Tzagournis, who won the event from 2010 through 2012. ... The winning team will receive $250 of official prize money and their rightful place on the CGA Wall of Fame. The runner-up will receive $100.
